Every Sparkle Shouts

It’s easy to look at the condition of the world and despair or grow cynical about the message of the birth of Jesus: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” Luke 2:14.

At Bible Study Fellowship, we have been studying the book of Revelation. We just finished chapters 4 and 5. A quick overview is that in all the world there is no one worthy to be glorified and honored as the Lamb of God, who was slain from the foundation of the earth to bring salvation. It is a glimpse of heaven – – how everyone present will proclaim Him king and continuously worship him– falling down before him because He alone is worthy. The study of this apocalyptic book has brought immeasurable blessing and hope into my life. Every verse is breathing that Jesus is Victor, and there is hope beyond this life to which we can anchor our storm-beaten souls.

Yes, I still believe in peace on earth and goodwill toward men. As we kneel at His cross and honor the only one worthy in the universe – – the Lamb – – the Christmas message finds home in our hearts. I am determined that no matter the condition of the world or the church or the government that every sparkle of Christmas will shout “glory to God in the highest, peace on earth and goodwill to men.” Let us pause to listen.
