I wrote this poem on the craggy coast of Maine with the churning waves hammering against the ancient rocks.
Majestic, mighty green sea
boiling and foaming and frothing,
shattering rugged rocks.
Dashing and crushing
like hammers on steel,
taming what you command.
Pounding relentlessly
against ancient ocean bars.
“This far and no more,” mighty sea.
You are constrained in order
by awesome power,
and I,
by awesome love.
