The morning air today in Arizona is so cool that I have opened the glass doors onto the veranda. It feels invigorating as I sip my coffee. My first thought after I awoke: “Oh yeah, I’m on vacation!” And I rmembered that I have promised myself to walk “barefoot”–without the cares of life at home and work–for the next two weeks.

That put a smile on my face and a spring in my step.

Well, my husband and I are off to the gym in a few minutes. Yes, I am still keeping up my Weight Watchers regime, even on vacation. I am determined and have been doing pretty well…

This week we will make a trip to the desert. I am eager to photograph some plant life of the wilderness. There is so much unusual plant life just surrounding our resort. I will be posting photos soon.

Maybe some are asking why I continue to blog… even on vacation… well I guess you have to be a writer to understand. Writers must write. We must write… in pain, in joy, on vacation, under pressure. Writing is like breathing. I write for the sheer joy of it.

Well, back to my cool, quiet morning, strong cup of joe, and barefoot thoughts of sun and fun…
