A Better View…

Since we arrived in Cyprus almost a month ago, it has been either very hazy over the valley and mountains or raining. But yesterday morning, after it rained all night, I awoke to a crisp and clear morning and stepped onto our veranda to snap this photo. I promised you a photo of our view when I could get a good one.

Here are some almond trees in bloom in the valley right below us.

My good friend, JD, asked for a photo of the place we are renting, so JD, here it is.

Yesterday, we drove to Larnaka to pick up some dear friends that are staying with us from Israel. Occasionally you will find flamingos on the water close to the airport. They migrate from Africa. Sometimes they are so close, you can see them well. Their coral feathers are brilliant in the sun. But yesterday, they were so distant. I was disappointed because I didn’t have my “mega” camera lens to get close up photos of them.

A flock of them flew overhead while we were watching standing on the shore. It was so funny to see their loooooong legs flapping in the wind…

I could just kick myself for not bringing my super camera lens…

On the way back up the mountains, we drove alongside the ocean. The water shimmered in the light like a pool of silver. The angle of the sun reflecting off the water was mesmerizing. Water and light are just a great combo. And because of the recent rains, the land glowed like an emerald.

I have found since coming to Cyprus and changing our pace of living, taking time to reflect more, worship and pray more, that I have a better view on life…

I am so glad, and so is my husband… Like they say, “If Mama ain’t happy, then nobody ain’t happy…”

When our son Jeremy was in Kenya he saw the flamingo’s on Lake Victoria and said it was an amazing sight.
Blessing to you and your family.
