My husband brought back some compelling photos of Ethiopia this trip. While I was perusing them, this old Steve Fry song rose up in my spirit and ministered to me so much as I kept leafing through the pictures.
I felt the Lord saying to me, “If you want to know me, then look at these people. See how much they need me. Feel how much I long to reveal myself to them. Intercede for these. Give your life for these… ”
Sometimes I have grandiose ideas of giving my final breath to know God, and all he wants me to do is love those around me. I realize not everyone has the privilege of having these precious Ethiopians “around them.” But that is a responsibility entrusted to me at this time, and I must be faithful…
Here’s the song that is ministering to me so deeply today as I consider these precious people.
Dear Bonnie – I love how you love God’s people! This sentence, “Sometimes I have grandiose ideas of giving my final breath to know God, and all he wants me to do is love those around me,” catches my attention, arrests my heart!
