“What… a Birthday Day?”

Four years ago today, I took pen in hand — rather fingertips on keyboard — and began this blog, “culture vs content.” In case you’re new, here’s what its all about. Here, you have allowed me to untangle my thoughts, voice my opinions, gripe, praise, reflect, ask for help, and point to heaven on these very cyber pages day after day.

Thank you!

“Culture vs content” has been a journal of devotions and poems over the last 1,460 days that has soothed my soul. Just like my dog, Tiki, my blog has been a silent, listening, and faithful companion. Oh how I have enjoyed venting here.

I want to say a special thank you to my faithful readers who have allowed me to blossom here — in this safe place of blogging. Thank you for reading and coming back and for your very insightful comments over the years. It is wonderful to have an audience. No writer is worth her salt unless she has readers. You have urged me on, encouraged me, and made my writing rewarding.

To say thank you to my dear readers, I’m celebrating with a GIVE AWAY today. The first three people to comment will get their choice of:

1) a bag of Ethiopian coffee beans (fresh, my husband just brought from his trip last week to Addis Ababa –this is some of the best coffee in the world.)

or

2) an 8×10 photo (framable) of any photo on my blog that you want or like. You may need to leaf through the pages to find a favorite.

Please be sure to leave your email address, so I can contact you on how to ship to you.

Thank you.

Here are a few of my favorite posts over the years.

“My Life Happened in the Room”

“Mountain Climbing in Slippers”

“Something About God We Don’t Know”

The Pink Bomb Shelter”

“She Hoped He Would Remember”

“Susan Boyle: ‘I Dreamed a Dream'”

“Show Me Your Teeth”

“You Sobered Her Soul”

Sorry I haven’t been such a faitfhul reader over the past few months. I didn’t have the link handy so I strayed. But now I’m back but I guess too late to get the prize!
