Guadalupe River near Austin, TX
I am not a photographer, amateur or otherwise. I am a picture-taker and in the most rookie sense and sure professionals cringe when they see my work on my blog or Facebook or elsewhere… and I’m not fishing for a compliment here. The truth is with the accessibility of great cameras, everyone has become a photographer; and almost anyone can produce fairly decent snapshots.
With all the travel my husband and I are privileged to do through the year and a fabulous camera helps me enjoy cataloguing the amazing moments of our lives annually. For the past couple of years, I have posted my favorite photos of the years. This doesn’t mean they are professional in any way, just special to me. Here are a few of my favorites:
Phaphos, Cyprus, January 2011
Israeli Shuk in Jerusalem, Israel, February 2011
“Girl in Blue,” taken from a great distance as we were traveling down the road in the African outback. I love this because it is a picture of the austerity of life and the contrast of her colorful dress and bare feet. I love the action and joy of childhood captured here. Taken outside of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, March 2011.
Monkey in the African outback taken in Woliso, Ehtiopia, March, 2011.
Chain Bridge in Budapest, Hungary, April, 2011.
Fellowship of the Sword encounter in the hill country of central Texas, spring, 2011.

Home sweet home again.
These are all wonderful pictures! I’m envious of all your travels. My husband and I are planning to visit San Antonio and Austin in April. I think I may have to stop by Guadalupe River. It looks really beautiful.
