Lifted

DSC_0063Christmas doesn’t descend upon us; it ascends and lifts us with it. For a few days, we are several inches from the firmament in awe of God’s indescribable Gift. It is a sort of Mount of Transfiguration experience that is not sustainable in the sense that we must occupy in reality until He returns.

It is one of those high points in which God’s glory curtain is pulled back, by the wind of the Holy Spirit. This glimpse helps us to descend into the flat land or the valley later, knowing He was born to die and tasted death for every man. God’s presence is always available and able to lift us above life’s circumstance at any moment, and that is how we sustain the spirit of Christmas on a personal level.
