haiku: hope

such sweet suffering to hope, as close as a kiss as far as a star

the weight of the world descends in late afternoon then lifts at twilight

“Shade and Darkness” by JMW Turner deep blue eyes bleed tears silver drops of silent pain blood stains broken heart

inward bruises bleed bluer than red tearful eyes deep, raw suffering

faith, hope, charity love is the greatest of these, but hope sparks the rest

scarlet painted sky every color in nature a sign from heaven

sparkling springs at home draw me from this desert place where I have wandered

if one day is a thousand years, then one hour with you will be enough

in this place layers blur light, here honey tastes sour and bitter is sweet

scars on furniture mark character, human scars say imperfection
