haiku: random thoughts on south america

Cock-a-doodle doo!

Roosters declare to the world

sun’s up in Brazil.

Rich in penthouses;

poor under the bridges. All

nations are the same.

Hand-hewn cobblestones

old world traditions remain

today’s foundations.

Bright smiles and happy

faces, inner glowing of

multi-ethnic groups.

Warm, jovial and

fun, Brazilian hearts are like

quick otters at play.

Love freely given, oh how

they give and give back!

European land

of resettling, the Jews

flocked to your safe shores.

Nazis came to you

to hide, after world war two.

Lives incognito.

Spirit of the dance

tango and romance. God sets

feet dancing anew.

Gold dust, miracles

the Holy Spirit falls on

all who trust… believe…

Argentine cowboys

rustle up cattle. The world

loves your beef, your wine.
