“Boredom is the feeling that everything is a waste of time; serenity, that nothing is.” – Thomas S. Szasz
Yassas! Informal “hello” in Greek.
I am looking at the Mediterranean Sea as I write this and thinking about serenity. Also I am trying to remember why I didn’t want to take this trip. The reason escapes me now. Everything about Cyprus fills my senses… Cyprus is like burnished copper shimmering in a amethyst sea… and the backdrop of the Mediterranean stucco homes with red-tiled roofs… the landscape, green from rain… the salty sea breezes and winter winds… It is heaven to be here in any season.
Last night we arrived late, so we ate supper inside the Sunset Cafe in Paphos, in front of a large, white stone fireplace with roaring fire to warm our bodies and souls. We slept well… almost 13 hours after our gruelling flights and delays to get here.
In a few minutes we pick our daughter up and spend a couple of days with her.
I have a new camera, which I have been studying how to use, so hopefully I will be able to post some interesting pictures of Cyprus in the days ahead.
What?!!!!! You did not want to come to this absolutely romantic idyllic island of wonderful friends and glorious encounters? {Said with drama and flare.} Yes of course I understand as I have traveled much myself, but wait a minute this is where good friends, fellowship, and moments of long term friendship are sealed over and over again. I am just playing with you. Ah, but of course I understand. Sometimes one more trip is just very hard to get excited about. l love the way you paint our island with those wonderful word pictures.
For all you readers out there we will send them back with stories filled with pics and testimonies of God’s hand on them and through them while they are here. It is with great joy we greet them and look forward to the impartation that they have for us. They always give us some goodies that we will enjoy long after they leave. We count Wayne and Bonnie as very dear and precious friends who have much to give the entire body. We honor your coming and giving of yourselves to us on the island of Cyprus. Love you girl.
