haiku: winter hope

Icicles glimmer
with fleeting desperation,
dreading the sun’s rays.

Glittering snow glow
juxtaposition-sun and
snow-sting naked eyes.

Gray winter day pours
steel into my soul as I
forge snow-laden path.

To hope in winter
is to bury a brown bulb
with eyes of wonder.

White winter blanket
covers bulbs and blades–deepens
their hue and fragrance.

Winter says come in
sit and dream by the fire blaze,
stoke your soul for spring.

Simply beautiful….ahhh may our roots go deep in the season of winter that our fruit be sweeter for the King to drink from His garden’s bounty.
