In the Torah, detailed instructions about the blowing of two silver trumpets are given to Israel. Since the Diaspora and the rebirth of the nation of Israel, these silver trumpets have not been officially blown. In Israel today, Messianic believers and worshippers from all nations are beginning to incorporate the sound of the silver trumpets into their worship.
While in Jerusalem not long ago, Wayne and I met with Rick and Patty Ridings who oversee a 24/7 House of Prayer in Jerusalem. Worshipers from various nations visit them to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the salvation of Israel. In the last few months, they have begun to include in the sound of the silver trumpets into worship as detailed in Number 10:2-10:
Make two trumpets of hammered silver, and use them for calling the community together and for having the camps set out. When both are sounded, the whole community is to assemble before you at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
The sons of Aaron, the priests, are to blow the trumpets. This is to be a lasting ordinance for you and the generations to come. When you go into battle in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the LORD your God and rescued from your enemies. Also at your times of rejoicing-your appointed feasts and New Moon festivals-you are to sound the trumpets over your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, [a] and they will be a memorial for you before your God. I am the LORD your God.
An unbelieving Jewish rabbi attended one of the prayer meetings at the Ridings’ House of Prayer. When he heard the two silver trumpet blasts, he knew that it was Scriptural. His heart was pierced. In fact, he went to the rabbis in charge of the Western Wall and asked why the two silver trumpets were not being used there at the New Moon and at the time of war. The rabbis did not have an answer, so they have begun to incorporate the use of the two silver trumpets at the Western Wall.
God is moving in Israel today. He is restoring important truths and treasures through those who love Him and His Ancient People. Ultimately, the nations who love God through the Son-Yeshua-are to provoke them to jealousy that may believe. Pray that those who hear the silver trumpets blasting again at the Wall will be drawn to their true Messiah.
