We Have Work to Do…

“In Him [Jesus] was life, and that life was the light of men.” John 1:4

Believers are instructed to throw our worries upon the Lord, because He intimately cares about what is happening in our lives. The USA may be facing rough times economically. We certainly are facing uncertain times, not knowing the outcome of the presidential election before us. We are at war. In the natural, things look grim. We must humble ourselves and pray for mercy.

God will take care of us in many unusual and wonderful ways. And we must in turn care for others, especially widows and orphans the world over who are in great need. We must be about the Lord’s kingdom. The disciples asked Jesus about the end of the world when calamities increased.

His answer: “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).

No matter how grim things may look, there is hope. Jesus is our focus, and from that focus comes a heart to reach a world that does not know.

We have work to do.
