“… in His light, we see light.” (Psalm 36:9).
I spent the late afternoon making latkes or potato pancakes. They are a Hanukkah tradition and worth the calorie splurge once a year. Here is a great step-by-step process. Later, our Israeli neighbors upstairs came down, and we enjoyed the time together with latkes and sour cream and applesauce, lots of good conversation, and laughs.
That was the appetizer. Later we piled in the car and ate dinner out: lamb kabobs, humus, and chips (french fries or as some say W. fries).
I mentioned yesterday that some very good friends from the states arrive today, so I am getting ready. We will be seeing a bit of the city with them. It is always fun to see Jerusalem through new eyes. One our friends has never been here, so that is exciting!
Well, I have a dinner party to prepare, but it will be a simple one… just chili, salad, cornbread, and dessert. How about a Texas welcome from Jerusalem.
More to come…
