Seeking the Fountain of Life

“For with you is the fountain of life, in your light we see light” (Psalm 36:9 NIV).

Great explorers worldwide have searched for the “fountain of youth.” They should have been looking for the Light of the World. In that luminous discovery, they would have found the illusive “fountain of life” that goes way beyond the beauty of youthfulness. It promises eternal life.

Have you ever met someone in life that seems ageless? Chances are they are passionate about life and that passion enlightens their face and gives them a youthful countenance. Two exquisite metaphors in this verse – life and light – reveal the Creator. The Lord is relentlessly revealing Himself to creation by offering life and light. This is the secret to drinking from the fountain of youth, partaking of the only Source of Life and Light.

Prayer…

Teach me to drink deeply from Your fountain of life for there I find light that illumines the darkness in my soul and the world. Teach me how to communicate my heart with you through prayer. Help me to understand your message of life by reading the Bible.

Work it out in daily life…

Take a moment today to look directly into the Father’s light through prayer or meditating on the above scriptures, and He will reveal a new enlightening aspect of His love to you. There are areas in your life where you feel stuck or need rejuvenation. In prayer, tell God about them specifically. Ask Him for light the reveals solutions. He will show you eternal light that will lead to life that overflows abundantly and renews your life like a fountain.
