This Will Break Charlie’s Heart

I recently read of Charlie Kirk that, while the nation mourns his death, we must never forget his rhetoric–which did not exemplify the gospel of Jesus or the way of the cross. That Kirk was ultimately a brilliant MAGA apologist and right wing conservative provocateur. A myriad of analysts, opposed to his views, have accused Kirk of dealing-out hate speech that targeted marginalized groups and promoted division.

There are lifestyle options that are rigorously promoted in our culture today that are contrary to biblical teaching. We read about these daily in our news commentaries. If asked, Charlie was out spoken about the harm of many of these. The Bible was his source of authority and authenticity. This is the main reason that Charlie Kirk was hated, mocked, and ultimately murdered. Amid this though, Charlie always promoted love – – that God forever loves the sinner and not the sin.

Some think that the bulk and foundation of Kirk’s vision and work was to promote the tenants of MAGA and the Republican Party.

This is untrue.

First and foremost, Kirk cherished the Word of God and how it could be applied in a post-modern, post-God world. He loved his Creator with all his heart and mind and soul, and he loved his neighbor as himself in that he sought civil dialogue through speaking and listening in turn, to bring about radical and lasting change.

If you are a Christian, bought by the blood of Jesus, then you understand the miraculous change that happens when you repent of your ways that are contrary to God and begin to adhere to the truth in the Bible and its principles. It is transcendent of all earthly help and utterly transforming.

Some who followed Kirk and began to believe in Jesus found these things to be overwhelmingly true. Their lives changed for the better. I recently listened to many testimonies of young people’s lives that have been miraculously altered by Charlie’s offer to experience firsthand the pathway of salvation through the cross of Christ and His overcoming life plan through following the teachings of Christ. I encourage you to listen to the testimonies of the many with changed lives.

I believe that Charlie did not die for free speech or political reasons – – or that he died because he was a brilliant Maga apologist or because he belonged to the Republican Party. I believe that he died because of his faith. He made his personal and political choices because of his faith. Every decision in his life was driven by the foundation of the biblical values that he stood upon and promoted in word indeed.

The truth is that Charlie Kirk received the most criticism from his biblical worldview and how he applied it to his life and American culture. This is what riled his enemies against him. The bottom line is that he was hated for his stance on the Bible. His very life promoted the way of the cross. He brought thousands to repentance and new life and light. He has done much– more than I have and most of us! Far be it from me to pass judgment or wag a finger.

Charlie Kirk died for his faith not for his politics.

He is a martyr and is in heaven standing next to Jesus with a martyr’s crown.

Republicanism was wood, hay, and stubble to Charlie compared to the riches of the gospel that delivers soul. Political affiliation is ephemeral, and Charlie knew it. Politics is just a passing, fragile conduit to help guide us civilly through a dark, chaotic world. We await another kingdom and King! Charlie is with Him now.

Charlie will and should be remembered forever for his faith and for his courage. This is what he desired. The kingdom of Jesus has ultimate authority and this was important to Charlie.

Our beloved Charlie would be deeply grieved right now if he is remembered only as a Republican or a Trump supporter, or that he rejected the way of the cross by helping a political side, along with his true mission of sharing the new life of Christ. Indeed, if this is his only legacy, it would break Charlie’s heart.

So very true Bonnie! I have caught Charlie Kirk many times as I could find him and every time he mentioned the way to salvation or to be forgiven far more times than anything politics. True around time for Trump’s time for election He pointed people toward voting for him but he would put in the context that if he not elected we would lose that much more of our Christian values. His marriage, the fact he turned his phone off all day Sunday so he and his family could enjoy going to church on Sunday and then enjoy the whole day as a family day was his goal. I never heard him speak more than 4-5 sentences that Jesus Christ his Lord wasn’t in it. Bonnie in all your poetry and prose you write like the same as Charlie, when you compare a deer, the mountains, a flower, your grandchildren, anything you are making a comparison to, you relate a verse. It is ordinary conversation for Charlie, it is ordinary poetry or prose for you. Charlie made you think and find the answer and your words written do the same. I am not comparing you to Charlie Kirk at all. We should not compare one to another. The comparison is to the Lord and how he wants each one of us to use our gift, our personality to point the way to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. I always love what you write because the words come from Heaven its self. To explain what Charlie really died for and for many who don’t see that your words will be healing to them to know the truth. Thank you Bonnie to have the confidence to take your computer or your pen in hand and just be an instrument of the Holy Spirit to let it flow out of you what the people need to hear. You are so faithful! You have full confidence in the Lord. You are truly the Lord’s instrument!
