Scathing Moment of Truth…

Always in a hurry, I half-ran-and-half-walked as I entered a neighborhood department store. It was midday and I was melting in the Texas heat. But I saw something that stopped me dead in my tracks… my own reflection in the large glass windows. It was a scathing moment of truth… it ruined my day… and it should have come a decade ago.

Well, soon after that day, my dear friend, Syble, and I joined Weight Watchers. We have been counting our points and exercising faithfully for 9 days. And I have already lost 7.3 pounds.

Oh, I know this is an uphill battle… one that I have traveled before. So I am writing you and enlisting you as part of my accountability team. I will be keeping you up on my progress from time to time.

My goal is to lose 50 pounds by Christmas/Hanukkah.

Since I will be definitely eating in the next six months anyway, it might as well be healthy.

Stayed tuned for the new me!

  1. Go Bonnie! I’m in the same boat as you! Pictures are NOT my friend! I’ve got 30 lovely extra pounds hanging on. Keep it up-and hopefully we’ll all be seeing less of eachother real soon:) You can do it!

  2. Denise,

Hey great to hear from you! It is always good to encourage each other along in things like this. It helps to have the extra boost of positive strength flowing… especially when you feel weak…

  3. I love Bonnie’s first response “hip hip hooray”. ME, I am going for “hippless hooray!”

I am slow getting in the boat with ya’ll, but count me in.

    BE FREE! Gwen

  4. Bonnie you know what, this blog inspires me… and it’s been a month now when I decided to lose weight and with all the encouragement we can do it. I even enroll myself on gym to really burn my fats and have been so conscious about the food I eat. Nice post Bonnie, and just believe in yourself, have a visualization and in no time you’ll see the result you’ve been waiting.
